I keep thinking Tom's birthday is Oct. 1, when actually it's Oct. 3! Anyway, this was a live stream of my player piano playing 15 Tom Brier compositions and 10 Brier improvisations (transcriptions of some popular videos of his sight-reading) -- though one of the improvisations featured him making up two extra strains of music off the top of his head, so half of that one is a Brier original also.

Thanks go out to several YouTubers who have made many of these transcriptions or arrangements of Tom's music. Only a few of these were made by me (including one hand-played sequence -- pardon my poor playing abilities!).

Credit for the photo of Tom giving the dramatic thumbs-up goes to Will Perkins.

Unfortunately, all the effort I put into fixing sticking keys last weekend, which worked all week, ended up failing horribly, as one low G in particular regularly got stuck. The only real way to fix it would have been to remove the key and surrounding keys to get at the solenoid plunger, but of course there was no time for that while playing these live, so I just had to fight with it.

Tracks in order were:

2:20 K.K. Ragtime, from "Animal Crossing"
5:00 Candlelight romanza -- Brier original
11:10 Last Rag, from "Devil May Cry" (third and fourth strains made up by Tom though)
15:30 Snakey Chantey, from "Donkey Kong Country 2"
19:45 Fumble Fingers -- Brier original
23:00 The Garden Walk -- Brier original
26:20 Over the Top -- Brier original
30:10 Nyanyanyanyanyanyanya! (a.k.a. Nyan Cat)
36:15 Perryville -- Brier original, as played by Larisa Migachyov
41:15 Razor Blades -- Brier original
43:45 Squish It! -- Brier original
47:40 Rose Blossoms -- Brier original
53:35 Sunlight and Shadow -- Brier original
58:00 Birabuto Kingdom Theme, from "Super Mario Land"
1:00:50 Ending Theme from "Super Mario Land 2"
1:08:50 Ending Theme from "Super Mario World"
1:14:15 Blue Ribbon Rag -- Brier original
1:19:30 Korobeiniki (a.k.a. Tetris A theme)
1:25:10 Horse Race Theme from "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time"
1:28:00 Vulture Rag -- Brier original
1:31:15 Athletic Theme from "Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island"
1:33:25 Ending Theme from "The Legend of Zelda"
1:38:25 Redneck Rag -- by "Brian March" (probably Tom Brier and Eric Marchese)
1:41:35 Treble Trouble -- Brier original
1:45:25 Peril in Pantomime -- Brier original

The last track was hastily edited as it was sent to me during the livestream, and as presented would not have played on the piano as there was no separation between repeated notes, so I shorted all notes very quickly, which made for an overall staccato performance, but at least it played.

The credits to Super Mario World. Awesome song... =P

If you hold up, L, R, X, and Y when you beat Bowser, for some reason Mario does the weird dance in the video. That's such a pimp dance, I bet he gets all the ladies with those moves.
