It’s difficult to show the immense journey Max has been through in all of Black Sails in a 4 minute video. I was compelled to try and capture at least some of the most important points following that amazing scene in 4x08. She rose to the top, got the opportunity of a lifetime, the one she’d been striving for for such a long time, but along the way she realized how empty that vision of home would be if she wouldn’t be with someone she loved. She witnessed the violence and anger in Nassau and all she wanted was for the cycle to end. Through perseverance she succeeded and never once did she resort to violence.

It is of course more complicated than that, but this is Black Sails and it’s pretty impossible to accentuate all 150 layers that make its characters what they are. Anyway, I love Max a lot and so should you. What a character. What a journey. What a story of survival. I’m so proud of her.
