Here is the stereo LP version of Magic Carpet Ride edited down to 2:55 to faithfully recreate the single version. There are other stereo edited versions which have appeared on compilation albums, but to my knowledge, never before edited exactly like the single.

The only difference between this and the single version is the vocal on the first verse and chorus is a different take. My guess is that the original vocal take in that section was not deemed best when the single version was mastered, so they recorded a new one punched-in on another track. Then when they mastered the LP, they just stuck with the original vocal track all the way through.
