It allows a player to change the game's background music to redone 8bit tracks from Pokémon Gold/Silver/Crystal and new chitune versions of some tracks originally composed for Pokémon HeartGold & SoulSilver.
GameBoy Sounds versions of 8bit music from Gold/Silver/Crystal sounds like original but tracks isn't exactly the same like the originals. This be due to the different hardware of the Nintendo DS than of the GameBoy.
